Salary: £44,100 – £66,100 + car / allowance + performance-related bonus+ a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

What is the Role?
SSEN Transmission Networks Transmission business has secured an extensive capital development programme over the next ten year period to increase the network regulatory asset value to an estimated £12bn. The roles are required to support the growth of our countries’ electricity transmission network and the transition to Net Zero through connection of renewable energy sources.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contract Manager (Lead Cost Controller) to join our Procurement and Commercial team to support our Offshore Directorate in our Networks Transmission business.
The role will be responsible for all Cost Control activities for a Major Offshore Project. To successfully operate within a regulated business environment, we require to monitor, control and report on all Cost matters required on the Project – this includes areas such as Forecasting, Budgeting, Change Control, Cost Reporting and Accrual Generation.
Working within the Project Team, as the Contract Manager (Lead Cost Controller) you will be expected to take a lead role in the coordination and fulfilment of all Cost Control activities required from the Procurement and Commercial team.
You will comply with all safety policies and procedures, promote safety and safe working practices both internally and externally to improve safety performance. You will also support the Senior Procurement and Commercial Manager in providing a world class procurement and commercial service to internal customers.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
– Extensive experience as a Cost Controller managing projects or programmes in excess of £10m+.
– Demonstrate experience and competency with all aspects of Cost Control including Forecasting, Budgeting, Change Control, Cost Reporting and Accrual Generation.
– Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with an ability to liaise with all levels of the business.
– Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the business – identifying and developing innovative methods for improving Cost Control processes and techniques.
– Collaborative approach, able to develop strong working relationships with all areas of the Projects.
– Joint Venture Cost Control experience – preferred.
