About the Department

Operations are responsible for keeping the lights on; we are at the front line on the Network. If we find a fault, it is our responsibility to respond to the fault, and dispatch our skilled teams to fix it as quickly as possible. We work in all hours, and through all weathers, ensuring our customers are never without power.

What is the Role?

Within this role you will be responsible for managing the end to end process for disconnections and general enquiries. You will ensure that we provide our customers with the appropriate quotes, project delivery of the works and financial closure within our systems. Ensuring that priorities are dealt with, targets are met and work is delivered to meet programme and customer requirements.

Safety, scheduling of work, reporting and compliance are also key factors within the role. You will be responsible for deciding how to complete jobs with input from business experts where required and review applications to provide a suitable design & quote for our customers. Working with the Coordination Manager you will apply the company strategy including BHAG’s and KPI’s to ensure that we are always looking to improve our performance and realise job requirements and timeframes.

You will ensure that SSEN’s customers remain at the core of every decision to ensure great customer service performance and value is delivered. Seeking to continually improve the efficiencies by focusing on reducing key areas including cost, travel time, repeat visits and changes to the programme whilst implementing improvement measures to ensure resource gaps are identified and managed.

What do I need?

You will have an appreciation of other business functions, understanding of how a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) operates and generates revenue and incentives within the current price control period together with relevant guaranteed and overall standards to support customer service strategies

You will have previous programme and scheduling management experience with significant experience of leading and motivating small teams in a target driven environment that delivers programmes together with the ability and knowledge to engage at all levels and instil a high performing culture
