Business Graduate Programme
Base Salary: £29,000
We have an opportunity available for a Business Graduate within our Distribution business, based in Perth. This is an exciting opportunity to really put your learning into practice, and develop practical skills in an environment where you’ll be fully supported and encouraged to be your best.
Due to our size and diversity, we can offer you a structured yet challenging development programme where you’ll have the support of a Graduate Programme Manager and a business mentor to assist you in reaching your full potential. The programme will support your career development into a permanent role with SSE that reflects your experience and passion.
What will I do on the programmes?
Depending on the programme you choose, you could be involved in a broad range of exciting projects across the UK. All roles are likely to involve some travel to other sites to gain practical exposure to a wide range of business areas, therefore a full UK driving licence would be an advantage but is not essential.
Working within our Distribution business you’ll be at the forefront of seeing how our network operates. You’ll be involved in projects and activities that help us ensure our network is not only running effectively, but is continually utilising innovative and commercially viable new technologies and efficient ways of providing energy to all customers.
What do I need to join?
For this programme, you’ll ideally have a minimum of a 2:2 degree in a business degree discipline. This may include but is not limited to Business Studies, Business Admin, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting & Finance, Commerce, Legal, Procurement, Statistics or other business-related discipline. Consideration will also be given to students with an engineering or STEM qualification and an engineering background/ knowledge would be advantageous for this role.
We’d love you to have practical work or project experience that reflects your passion for business, as well as demonstrable experience of working in a team. You’ll also be comfortable working to and setting stretching individual targets and using your own initiative to overcome challenges.
You should have an interest in the energy sector, and show alignment with SSE’s core values. We also ask that you have a flexible approach to work locations and be genuinely committed to developing a career with us – as we are with you.
