About the Department

The Investor Relations (IR) team is a team of three which facilitates effective communication between the Company and the investment community – primarily existing and prospective shareholders, and City analysts – to allow these stakeholders to make an informed judgement about the fair value of the business, and its appropriate ownership. The IR team at SSE is the main point of contact for day-to-day enquiries from investors and is responsible for managing the bi-annual results reporting cycle.

What is the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a financially literate, analytically minded and committed individual to join our Investor Relations team based in Perth, Glasgow or Edinburgh. This is an ideal development role for an entry level graduate looking to explore a career in a FTSE 100 company with exposure to financial analysis, Group financial reporting, SSE’s Board of Directors and Senior Management teams across all areas of the business.

The role will provide a unique opportunity to gain strategic experience within one of the UK’s largest energy providers. The individual will build a full appreciation of SSE’s businesses, gain exposure to the operation of an FTSE 100 company and be involved in the management of relationships with shareholders and a range of other key stakeholders. The individual will be expected to deliver significant responsibilities with confidence and credibility and will play an integral part of delivering SSE’s overall Investor Relations objectives.

While Investor Relations are primarily based in Perth, with some travel required, SSE promotes flexible working and may be open to considering candidates based at other SSE sites, there will be a requirement to be based in Perth initially before flexible working can be considered.

You’ll work together with the team on your training requirements and may be provided with the opportunity to work towards obtaining a professional qualification with study support.
