Base Location: Flexible England, however our preference is that you will be based in proximity of one of our oncoming sites based in England, which includes but is not limited to:- Lancashire, Yorkshire, Midlands. (Due to our increased Battery and Solar Portfolio in England, alternative locations will be considered, particularly allowing local engagement with our facilities.)
Salary: £52,285 – £60,730 + performance related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
As a C&I Scada Engineer, your focus will be on managing and supporting the operational SCADA and control system platforms. Your work will encompass hardware, software, integration, and commissioning support across our Onshore Renewables fleet. You will manage a complex data environment where reliability and accuracy are essential. Engineering improvements will be part of your responsibilities to ensure system uptime. You will collaborate with other departments within SSE, providing support when needed.
You will
– Deal with data-intensive environments ensuring reliability and accuracy.
– Bring engineering improvements to guarantee system uptime in sourcing and capturing data.
– Operate with multiple departments providing on-demand support across the SSE portfolio.
– Handle server builds, including database configurations and installations of control components.
– Ensure network design adheres to industry cyber security requirements and document compliance procedures.
You have
– Minimum diploma qualification in Engineering or Information Technology with hands-on server hardware and software experience.
– Understanding of PLC operation and management, and practical server build experience including database setup.
– Knowledge in site-wide communication systems, network design, cybersecurity, and virtual machine environments.
– Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships along with commercial awareness of the implications of engineering activities and decisions.
– Ability to work effectively in a team and autonomously as required, with a full current driving licence essential due to the nature of the role.
