About the Role

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Belfast or Dublin.

Salary: £53,100 to £79,700 dependant upon experience + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

As a Geotechnical Technical Authority, you’ll play a key role in our Offshore Engineering Geoscience Team providing technical stewardship to our offshore wind portfolio of projects.

The main accountabilities may include:

– Providing technical oversight, guidance, and support across our full offshore portfolio;

– Providing design assurance and associated reporting through to the Design Authority;

– Support technical project governance;

– Participation in project design reviews;

– Input and review of project Design Management Plans

– Participation in Project Assurance Reviews

– Technical discipline leadership including of:

– Assess and deliver innovation opportunities, including JIPs, academic partnerships, etc

– Supporting the EM in the strategic planning of the team’s’ technical capabilities

– Support recruitment, development, and resource planning.

What do I need?

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and who is educated to degree level in Geotechnical Engineering and has experience in the management and delivery of geotechnical activities for offshore wind projects. Holding Chartership with the Institution of Civil Engineers or The Geological Society is essential.

Due to the nature of this role, we would love you to have experience in the majority of the following areas:

– Offshore foundation design including a working knowledge of the common codes of practice and design standards;

– Liaison with certifiers and lenders technical authorities for design validation/verification;

– Geotechnical interpretation and advanced lab testing;

– Offshore ground investigation;

– Strategic planning for offshore wind projects;

– Geo hazard and risk management.
