Salary: £58,100 – £87,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

Large Capital Delivery (LCD) is responsible for delivering a portfolio of large capital projects and programmes across the electricity distribution network in the SEPD and SHEPD licence areas, each valued between £2.5m and £100m. This portfolio includes all asset work programmes and investment projects above £2.5m, as well as major customer connections projects. LCD Project Services acts as a critical enabler to LCD delivery, providing PMO and integration services to ensure effective and consistent governance, control, and reporting across the portfolio.

We are seeking a Planning & Optimisation Manager to join our LCD Project Services team. In this role, you will lead and develop the planning and scheduling team, overseeing the continuous improvement of the integrated planning & scheduling capabilities, processes and ways of working across the LCD portfolio. You will play a critical role in leading the integration of scheduling activities across all projects, including assessment and integration of project schedules developed by the contractor partners.

You will

– Own and maintain the Planning & Optimisation processes and templates, to drive standardisation and consistency across the LCD portfolio.

– Be accountable for agreeing and implementing appropriate measures, based on industry best practice, to track schedule health and performance (inc. milestone adherence, governance dates etc.).

– Collaborate with the other Project Services leads, and Commercial & Procurement teams etc. to integrate cost impacts and risk events into the schedule, and provide robust inputs into management information.

– Lead and develop the Planning & Optimisation team, supporting professional development and upskilling, to drive a consistent and high-quality service provision across the portfolio.

– Contribute to the continuous improvement of LCD Project Services by championing the embedment of industry best practice.

You have

– Proven experience in leading and developing multi-disciplinary PMO and Project Controls teams.

– Extensive experience in planning and scheduling management for complex capital programmes within NEC frameworks.

– Advanced expertise in the use of Primavera P6, including configuration and integration of complex multi-disciplinary works, and multiple schedules (including contractor partners).

– Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across geographies, and work collaboratively to support integration with parties, including contractor partners.

– Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, influence best for programme outcomes and support schedule optimisation.
