About the Role

Base Location: Flexible UK & Ireland | We’re proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however need your base ‘home’ location to be one of our SSE offices or depots around the UK and Ireland.

Salary: £34,000 – £38,000 (UK) or €50,000 – €55,000 (ROI) + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

What is the Role?

As a UX Writer at SSE Airtricity, you’ll play a pivotal role in defining and refining the UI language of our digital products. Your words will guide users through their experiences, simplify complex concepts, and evoke emotions that resonate with our audience, resulting in seamless and enjoyable user journeys. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including UX, Product, Marketing, and developers to ensure consistency and coherence across all touchpoints. In this role you will:

– Craft clear, concise, and inclusive copy for user interfaces, microcopy, error messages, alerts, tooltips, and other digital touchpoints across all digital platforms.

– Collaborate with the Marketing team to align the brand tone of voice across all digital products and platforms.

– Collaborate with the UX team to conduct user testing and iterate on copy based on feedback and insights.

– Partner with business stakeholders and developers to advocate for user-centric solutions, while understanding requirements and constraints.

– Contribute to the development and maintenance of content style guides, writing guidelines, and best practices.

– Collaborate with designers and developers to ensure voice user interfaces are intuitive and accessible to users with visual or motor impairments.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

– Proven experience in UX writing, content design, or similar roles

– Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a sharp focus on detail and grammar.

– A strong grasp of user-centred design principles, fostering collaboration and feedback in cross-functional teams.

– Experience with UX/UI design tools such as Figma or Adobe XD.

– A Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience or related field, would be beneficial.

Within your application, a link to your portfolio showcasing relevant writing samples would be useful.
